How can I use a metal plant pot?

Well, in reality there's all kinds of uses for a metal garden plant pot. Ours in particular are wonderfully colourful, meaning they'll suit pretty much any style or colourway - and bring a little pop of colour to any room or garden. They are a great plastic-free alternative to traditional plastic plant pots.

You could use this metal pot for anything really. From storage, to plant pot, to water catcher, or simple display piece, our metal planters are both practical and lovely to look at. They're made of strong metal coated in a weatherproof glossy powder paint coating - so they're perfect for use indoors or outside.

We'd suggest using this metal planter for displaying your favourite plant or flower, and adding a little personality into your yard or garden. It can be used like any other pot, you may just need to consider the addition of drainage holes as needed.

 

How do I maintain my metal plant pot?

This ones easy, because each metal planter is coated in a glossy weatherproof powder paint coating they are incredibly durable and weather resistant. In reality the pots should require pretty much no maintenance at all. If they get a little dirty, you simply have to wipe the item clean with a damp cloth. If it's particularly dirty on the inside, you could rinse out under the tap or with a hosepipe - you won't cause the metal pot any damage by getting it wet. It's incredibly durable.

The colourful nature of this painted metal plant pot means it's perfect for use indoors or outside, so it's just a matter of keeping the item as clean as you like. Even the worst of the British weather won't damage it. If you happen to chip a little of the coating off, simply seal over the exposed metal with a little clear varnish or similar to protect it from rusting.

At the end of life, these metal plant pots are entirely recyclable, and it can simply be donated to your local recycling centre.

We think plastic free gardening is one of the best steps to take towards a more eco-friendly lifestyle. Eliminating plastic products from your garden is one of the easier leaps to make, as there's tonnes of excellent like-for-like swaps you can make to more environmentally friendly choices.

Plastic pollution is one of the world's biggest environmental threats right now, and it is continuing to grow. In 2020 alone, it was estimated that the UK consumed over 4.9 trillion tonnes of plastic, of which over three quarters became waste. Huge quantities of plastic enters our waterways, oceans and ecosystems. It causes damage to habitats, injures wildlife and just lingers, polluting our wonderful environments.

Swapping to plastic-free gardening products is just one step you can take to help counteract this pollution. Choose natural mulching products such as our sheep's wool garden felt, or natural jute hessian mulch mats instead of plastic tarpaulin. Or ditching plastic pots in favour of rubber - it's as simple as that!
